Responsibilities
Provide routine support with grooming, dressing, meals, activity engagement, and home safety while keeping clear documentation of client mood, challenges, and care tasks.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive home care experience with strong hands-on caregiving skills.
- Must be highly skilled and fully self-sufficient in providing care without continuous supervision.
- Strong experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
- Must be confident and experienced in the independent and safe operation of a Hoyer lift.
- Must have extensive experience with wheelchair use, positioning, and mobility assistance.
- Able to provide full assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
- Toileting and personal hygiene
- Bathing
- Dressing and grooming
- Mobility and transfers
- Meal preparation
- Able to assist with laundry and light housekeeping.
- Must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care to a male client.
- Must be able to drive the client in a wheelchair-accessible van from Aberdeen to Baltimore for school and return home, as required.
- Must be a safe, confident, and reliable driver who meets all applicable driving requirements.
- Should be outgoing, friendly, patient, and engaging, with the ability to involve the client in games, activities, and meaningful social interaction.
- Must be dependable, attentive, compassionate, and comfortable managing the client's care needs independently.
